Freiburger Barockorchester

As part of the FBO Grand Tour program, we film Johann Sigismund Kusser’s Overture No. 1 in G minor: the spirit of Lully meets a southwest German sound world. Our filming approach focuses on closeness to the ensemble, clean lines, and dance-like crispness, so that Kusser’s dramatic arcs, the striking ritornellos, and the music’s sense of journey register immediately.

Scenes of Horror

Our video series for the album "Scenes of Horror" is all about the dark beauty of the Baroque. Together with Il Giratempo and mezzo-soprano Laila Salome Fischer, we have chosen emotional arias by Handel that throw us into horror, despair and nightmares. Each aria is one of the core scenes in the respective opera that pushes the protagonists to their limits.
Very appealing to us - the dark facets of baroque music in a modern setting!

Bach: Erbarme Dich

Mezzo-soprano Alice Lackner and her ensemble present selected arias from J.S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio, Mass in B minor and St. Matthew Passion. Each aria unfolds in its own setting, embedded in the magnificent location of the ballroom in Aachen, Germany.

Bach: Chaconne d-Moll

Alexander von Heißen plays his own arrangement of the well-known D minor Chaconne. Our staging aims to present Bach's Chaconne in appealing colors and an authentic location. The baroque kitchen of the castle creates a fantastic atmosphere, while the clavichord gives the piece an intimate touch. The audience thus experiences Bach's masterpiece in a unique, accessible setting - who knows whether the level of wine consumption is historically accurate...

Schubert: Der Erlkönig

In the video production for the album "Heimat" by Daniel Behle and german Hornsound, the focus is on Schubert's Erlkönig. We aimed to give each character of the ballad an individual identity. From the portrayal of the insecure, even panicked child to the ominous Erlkönig himself, we have created bold demarcations.
